Get your kids to eat their food!...The Secret is VARIETY!
Finally, our children have just started their new school year!

leftovers?

Finally, our children are back to school and we have to find new creative ideas for
their lunch boxes. What to fill them with daily and how to make diversified meals
so they won’t get bored and get back home only for you to discover they didn’t
eat
their
meals!
On the other hand, how to decorate their meal and make it enjoyable for them todig in? How to prevent them from buying junk food from the school canteen?
For example, we can put the following in their lunch boxes:
Green apples that they can dip in Goody Peanut Butter. Next day, we can put
carrot sticks to dip in Hummous. We can also use slices of cucumber or rusks to
dip in yogurt. This way, we can make a wide range of foods our children won’t be bored of. These are additions to multiple choices of sandwiches from day to day. For
example, start with a jam sandwich, then Nutella or peanut butter sandwich and
next day, a cheese sandwich. On other days, they can have thyme or cheese
Manakeesh,
or
why
not
both!
Let’s not forget the bottle of milk with their favourite flavour. For me, sometimes,
I give my children a small pack of greek yogurt instead of milk in order for them,
to
feel
the
change.
As for fruits, they are very necessary for their growth and provide them with
energy and vitamins. In order to get your kids to eat more fruits, you have to use
them in many creative ways. For example, one day, we cut the fruits in slices; the
other we give them a banana, a mandarin orange, some strawberries that they
like,
or
slices
of
kiwifruit
and
pineapple
etc.
Bringing variations to your children meals from day to day will light up their faces
and encourage them to eat well. They will give their bodies the necessary
nutrients for their growth so they don’t hungry or tired. They also provide them
with the power they need to absorb the information they take in their classes. We
wish our children a happy new school year filled with energy, learning, progress
and
success.

Of course, most of our children get bored with the same old options of cheese
and egg sandwiches for breakfast, very easily so we have to put some efforts to
be creative and make variations. For example, you can use toast cutters to make
different and beautiful shapes of toasts. This will make the breakfast in school
more tempting for children to try. There are also many creative and easy ideas toincrease

Breakfast or lunch meals are important for our children – according to the
mealtimes schools follow in each country. It is vital that we get our little ones
used to them. Therefore, carrying lunch boxes with them to school is very
necessary for their health and growth as well as their learning process.
Of course, most of our children get bored with the same old options of cheese
and eggs sandwiches at breakfast very easily. So, we have to put some efforts to
be creative and make variations. For example, we can put in the child’s lunch box
a piece of his favourite fruit with some fresh vegetables such as cucumber and
carrot. We can also put corn. A pack, even if a small one, of flavoured yogurt is
going
to
be
a
good
addition
too.
We can give the child home-cooked chicken nuggets, cheese sticks or a sandwich
of tuna mixed with corn and some mayonnaise. Moreover, we can put home-
cooked cupcake, muffin or pancake cut in small pieces with a bit of honey on the
side. Don’t forget to put a small plastic fork in the box to help them keep their
hands clean when they dip the cake in honey. We should change their meals
every now and then so the next day, let’s give the child his favourite cookies with
a
bottle
of
milk.
For sandwiches, it’s recommended that we use a cookie cutter to cut them in
different and beautiful shapes. This will make the meal more tempting and
increase the child’s appetite, because sight is very important for children. Don’t
forget to put a bottle of purified water because water, as we know, is essential for
their
health.
In addition, we have to give the child dry and scented tissues to help him clean his
hands before and after eating his meal. Let’s remember that we should not
include something we know the child doesn’t like, or a new kind of food that he
has never tasted before, because probably he won’t feel the urge to give it a try!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially for our children. This is
why we care a lot about their breakfast. However, most of the times, children are
not ready to eat their breakfast when they wake up so we have to make the
breakfast more fun for them in the way we prepare it or the way we present it.
Colourful dishes will be more attractive and tempting for them. For example, one
day I wanted to serve them pancake with ground oatmeal and almonds. I
prepared the mixture the night before, and in the morning, I baked them. The
result was quite wonderful! They loved them so much and the pancakes were
good for their bodies, especially that I served them with honey and peanut butter.
These additions encouraged the children to try and love the oatmeal. I sometimes
serve it with greek yogurt and sometim, I add granola. These are very nutritious
additions, especially that I am a mother to a diabetic child (May God heal her). I
think that yogurt and granola help in maintaining a balanced blood sugar level
and I am no longer afraid of her blood sugar level to drop again.
On the other hand, for their school meals, I make sure to give them a small pack
of yogurt and fresh apples cut and wrapped in foil with drizzles of lemon juice to
keep
them
from
oxidizing
and
changing
colour.
Every two days, I make some changes. I add a small unpeeled banana with a
bottle of low-fat milk. When I feel they get bored with some repeated foods, I ask
them in the evening to think and choose what they’d desire for breakfast, the
next day. Then I ask them to prepare their meals by themselves to feel motivated
and happy because they are responsible of their own food. I might prepare
oatmeal cupcakes with tasty, nutritious additions. In this way, I make them accept
and love the oatmeal in their meals and thus, get its benefits.
Don’t forget that water is very important and essential for them. I make them
flavoured water with small strawberries, and you just can’t imagine how much
they love the strawberry flavoured water. The method is so simple. I wash some
fresh strawberries and cut each one in four pieces, then I add them to the bottleof water and they give it a distinctive flavour that your children will definitely love

children’s breakfast under any circumstances!
Breakfast is of high importance for our children’s health and growth. We all go
through certain times when the mother feels tired or ill. However, whatever the
situation is, we should never skip breakfast for our children before heading off to
school. We can overcome any compelling circumstances with easy steps.
For more information, visit the article in the link in Bio.
For me, I always pull a chair and eat breakfast with my children to encourage
them to eat. While eating, I try to show them how much I value and enjoy my
breakfast. I also take photos of the dishes and say, “Allah! Look how great our
breakfast is! I am sure my friends will fall in love with it and try to make the same
for
their
children,
next
weekend!”.
I usually take my children with me when I shop for grocery. I ask them what
they’d want for their breakfast meals next week and we buy the ingredients we
need.
Sometimes, we wake up late, but I don’t skip their breakfast. I give them some
dates with black cumin (Nigella) because of its many benefits and because the
kids can consume the dates quickly. I also prepare some fruits which they can eat
in
the
car
on
their
way
to
school.
Sometimes, they prefer pancakes for their breakfast, but I use a simple trick by
making the pancakes with ground oatmeal. Then, I allow them to eat chocolate
and strawberry because they have already gained the benefits of the oatmeal.
Sometime, I ask them before going to sleep what they would prefer for their
breakfast. This saves me time and thinking next morning. When I am tired or sick,
I prepare their meals the night before. I put in each box pieces of their favourite
fruits (strawberry, mango, banana etc) sliced and ready to eat. I add a pack of
greek yogurt and just a teaspoon of honey that they can’t be aware of because

With the beginning of each school year, mothers start planning to find out what
works to get their kids to eat a healthy breakfast. This is because breakfast is the
most important meal that provides the children with the energy and power they
need to concentrate and enjoy their school day without getting bored or fatigued.
How can we use smart tricks to give them the food they love with other good
nutrients?

Usually, the new school year starts full of energy and enthusiasm, especially after
a long vacation of various activities, away from the daily routine of the school. In
these days, mothers start planning for new tricks and ideas to get their children to
eat their healthy breakfast, especially, since it is the most important meal. It
provides children with the energy and power they need to concentrate and enjoy
their
day
at
school,
without
getting
bored
or
fatigued.
Most kids have a well known list of their favourite foods. However, I think that
making smart additions can do the trick to get the children to try new foods while
enjoying their favourite ones. Pancakes, for example, is one of the options
children favour and we can make them with ground oatmeal and wholemeal flour
instead of all-purpose flour. We can add a bit of honey or dark chocolate sauce
with some strawberries and sliced bananas. This trick will keep the delicious taste
they want without compromising on the nutritional value that we want them to
have.
The same applies for sandwiches. We can prepare home-made toasts or panini
sandwiches with special additions to the dough like wheat germ, ground oats or
flax seeds. These grains have a great impact on increasing the nutritional value
and can help your little ones feel full. When it comes to presenting the
sandwiches, I recommend we search for new ways to encourage them to eat and
improve their appetite. We can make the sandwiches, using cookie cutter, in
different and interesting shapes, such as a star, a sun or crescent shapes. You can
add some stripes of colourful veggies to surprise your kid with funny food ideasbefore
heading
off
to
school.
Finally, every mother can have smart tricks up her sleeve to keep her precious
little ones healthy. It’d be a great idea to write a small note inside the lunch box
to motivate the child. It’s going to make him happy and ready, to polish off his
meal!

We have to be patient with our children because their appetite and behaviour can

One of the tips I use when I prepare breakfast for my children before school is
that I change the meals and avoid repeating the same options every day. For
example, I cut the fruits and veggies in different shapes to attract their attention
and encourage them to eat. I also make variety of snacks. One day, I give my child
rusk; the other days, bread with thyme, vegetables with yogurt, or different types
of
dairy
products
and
so
on.
My advice is to have a very real patience when it comes to our kids, because their
appetite and behaviour can be quite tricky. Another tip is to get the children to
eat their meals with friends and family. This can further push them to polish off

meal
quickly!

It was a very long vacation that our children now, really miss the school! We are
back to a new school year! From the very first day, we want our children to be
active and enthusiastic. So, as a mother, you have to prepare a healthy, nutritious
meal for your kids to dig in instead of buying junk foods from the canteen. This
can also make them happy among their peers and proud of you as a mother, who
cares
about
them
and
their
health.
You can make sandwiches of peanut butter with honey. The next day, you can
prepare sandwiches of hard-boiled eggs, omelette, or a tasty tuna sandwich with
lettuce slices and cheese. You can make it as a kofta for a change! On the other
days of the week, why not try thyme sandwich with sliced cucumber, some mint,
tomato, yogurt, or a sandwich of your child’s favourite cheese? There are many
options and introducing changes in their meals is very important to keep them
from being bored and buying junk food from the canteen. Moreover, fruits like
bananas and apples are very important. I also tend to give them some tasty dried
fruits like dried figs and apricots because they have high nutritional value and are
rich in mineral elements. At the same time, dried fruits have a big advantage.
They can last for a long period of time in the child’s box without going stale. It’s
also very helpful to give your child some nuts, such as walnuts, almonds, or
pistachios, because they are a good source of energy and vitamins. I am sure,
every mother takes the utmost care of her kids’ health and foods and has her own
special way and unique style in preparing their healthy breakfasts. I wish you all a
successful
new
school
year!

Students’ breakfast is one of the most important foundations for their health!
Breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day, especially for kids
who are in the phase of growth and development. It’s recommended to make a
light, diversified, wholesome and balanced meal for breakfast so it can be
nutritious
and
healthy
for
the
body
of
the
child. To find out about the ideal meal for you children, visit the article in the link in BIO
We do not consume our daily food at once. It’s divided, as you know, into three
main meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, the most important of which
– especially for kids who are in the phase of growth and development – is
breakfast, because it’s the very first meal the child has during the day. It’s best to
have a light, nutritious and healthy breakfast for a better body of the child. This is
why breakfast should be varied; it should contain carbs such as those found in all
kinds of bread, like flatbread and toast bread. It’s preferable to choose brown
bread or oatmeal because they are rich in fibre that ensures a feeling of satiety
for a longer period of time. Vegetables should be on the breakfast table too:
cucumbers, lettuce, sweet pepper, carrot, or any kind of fresh veggies. It’s
recommended to include more than one piece of fresh fruits in the meal, like
apples, pears, medium-sized pomegranate, banana, or any kind of fresh or dried
fruits. Another important tip is to include in the meal one type of dairy products,
such as low-fat milk, zero-fat milk, or some milk derivatives such as yogurt and
cheese.
On the other hand, we should not forget the importance of having proteins on a
daily basis, such as the plant protein found in the grains and legumes. It’s good to
add to the child’s breakfast some chickpeas and beans or we can rely on the
animal protein like hard-boiled eggs or omelette. We shouldn’t forget the benefit
of healthy and necessary fats, i.e. the good fats found in olive oil, nuts, and flax
seeds.
Undoubtedly, if you want students to get all the benefits of the breakfast, the
meal should be diversified and rich in all elements and nutrients. There’s an old
saying that goes, “Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper”,
because breakfast has many benefits in children and adults. It’s particularly
important for our children who are students. Probably, one of the most important
benefits for the students is that it’s the main source of fuel for the body. It
provides the student with the energy he needs to carry out physical and mental
activities to the fullest extent possible. It also helps him improve concentration
and mental capabilities, which can reflect on his grades and overall performance
at
school.
A balanced breakfast causes a feeling of fullness for a long period of time. It helps
control the blood sugar levels in the body and decrease the feeling of fatigue andtiredness caused by the low level of glucose in the blood. Breakfast plays a major
role in maintaining a healthy weight because a person who has breakfast won’t
eat large amounts of food in the remaining meals. So, he will not consume more
calories than his body burns and, thus, avoid becoming overweight.
Healthy breakfast contributes to the growth of children and teens and the
development of their bodies, physically and mentally. It also helps them stay fully
active
and
energetic
during
the
day.

In children, the body during sleeping consumes the nutrients that they need to
compensate for next morning. It’s very important to put our children to bed early.
They will wake up full of energy with clear minds and ready to begin their day
with a delicious meal. This is because having a good night sleep can play a major
role in making the child accept his meal in the morning
When it comes to me, and for my children’s breakfast, I don’t prefer to stick to
the sandwich routine, and I try to make easy and tasty breakfast in a new style
everyday. I start with pancakes and the special additions that make the children
astonished and enthusiastic. This includes sliced fruits that I add to the pancakes
mixture. I also love the way I can pour the mixture onto the machine to create
different, beautiful shapes and designs. In the end, I make my final touch using a
delicious drink and pure honey or peanut butter with chocolate.
The same applies for making and cutting waffle into small cubes served with fresh
fruits. Sometimes, I add some safe food colourings to make coloured funny pieces
that light up my children faces. We have to make sure that we give our kids some
fresh vegetables too, such as carrot or cucumber sticks. I find that once I change
the shape of the sliced fruits and vegetables, the children become much more
eager to eat. This helps in increasing their appetite and making them enjoy their
meal.

Breakfast is the key to start our day fully active. The healthier our options at
breakfast are, the more energy and power we have to start the day!As a mother and a teacher, I know that breakfast is the starting point.
However, our rapidly changing lifestyle and the many options, temptations and
fast foods we have, make this process harder and more confusing. For most of us,
we have, on one hand, the fast, ready options which are unhealthy, bad for our
health, and can increase the blood sugar level alarmingly; on the other hand, we
have the more expensive options which require long time to cook to be healthy
and nutritious. However, I think we can use simple and creative tips to make an
enjoyable and healthy meal for breakfast in short time and inexpensive way. In
my opinion, the secret lies in three processes: meal planning, preparation, and
engagement!
Planning allows us to have various options and get all the necessary ingredients.
This can save us from being confused by the few and random options we have
and from getting bored of the same foods. We can also find ready-made list of
foods online so we can plan our meals for a week or even a month!
Preparation saves us time in the morning and gives us the chance to enjoy our
meal without haste. Most of the breakfast dishes can be prepared in the night
before, such as the pancake, waffle, or crepe mixture. Many of them are healthy
recipes made of wheat and wheat flour with honey and fruits. We can have the
fruits cut already, as well as the veggies and cheese which we can cut and place in
dishes covered with plastic wrap and leave them overnight.
We can also make meal preps of jam and peanut butter sandwiches. There are
also hundreds of ideas for meal prep you can find on the internet.
As for engagement, engaging our children in planning and preparing their meals
can help us know which foods they prefer or meals they get bored with.
Finally, we can work hard one hour a week then rest for a month! Nothing feels
better than watching your little ones start their day in a healthy way.
One of the options my girls prefer to eat for breakfast, not only at school but in
the house too, is waffle. I add honey to the waffle to make it sweet. I use coconut
oil and roasted nuts when I bake the healthy banana cake with wheat and all-
purpose flour. Sometimes I add popcorn or colourings for a change! I also use all
kinds of corns, Greek yogurt with berries, and strawberry or banana and honey.
