Fava Bean Fattah

  • Goody stewed fava beans
  • salt and black pepper
  • 2 loaves of pita bread
  • 1 cup of vegetable oil
  • 2 cups of yogurt
  • 2 mashed garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon of tahini
  • juice lemons
  • ½ tomato cut
  • 1 spoon of parsley
  • 1 spoon of roasted pine nut
  • 1 spoon of green onions


    Empty the can of Goody stewed fava beans and heat it; stir in a dash of salt and black pepper and heat in a pot over medium heat. Cut loaves of pita bread into small cubes; place vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat, fry the bread in it and then place it onto an absorbent paper. In another bowl, prepare the sauce and mix yogurt, garlic cloves, 1 tablespoon of tahini and juice of 2 whole lemons.
    Place the bread in the serving dish, and top it with the fava beans then the sauce; garnish with half a tomato cut into cubes, parsley, roasted pine nut, green onions and a dash of salt and black pepper; serve.
