Ingredients

Dough:
3 cups of Flour, sifted
1 Tbsp Yeast
½ tsp Sugar
½ tsp Salt
½ cup of Vegetable Oil
2 cans of Velor Canned Cream Plain
2 Tbsps Velor Powder Milk, dissolved in ½ cup of Warm Water
Chicken Filling:
½ kg Chicken, minced
2 Tbsps Vegetable Oil
2 Onion, minced
1 tsp Cumin, ground
1 tsp White Pepper
½ spoon of Oregano
½ Tbsp Galangal, ground
1 Goody Chicken Stock Cube
½ a Lemon, Squeezed
Salt to taste
½ a can of Velor Canned Cream Plain
½ cup of Coriander, minced
To Grease Pie’s Top:
Egg Yolk
 

Method

To Prepare Dough:
1.In a deep bowl, mix together the flour, yeast, sugar and salt, then add the oil and knead well with your hands. Afterwards, add the two cans of Velor cream and continue to knead. Finally, add the milk gradually, and knead until the dough is incorporated well; cover the dough and set it aside to ferment for an hour and a half or until it doubles in size.
To Prepare the Chicken Filling:
2.In a pot over the heat, add the oil and onions and stir until the onion wilts. Add the cumin, white pepper, oregano, galangal and chicken stock cube; stir well then add the lemon juice. Add the chicken and salt; stir until the chicken is cooked, then take the pot off the heat and let it cool.
3.After the chicken mixture cools, add half the Velor cream can and the green coriander; and stir them until they are incorporated together.
To Prepare the Pie:
4.Heat the oven at 180oC.
5.Divide the dough into two portions, and then on a sheet greased with oil, roll out one of the dough portions and make holes using a fork; and then spread the chicken mixture over it. Roll out the other portion from the dough over the filling and squeeze well from the sides. Grease the pie’s top with the egg yolk. Place it in the oven for 30-40 minutes, then take it out and serve hot.
