French toast is one of the most popular traditional meals in the West, it is ideal for breakfast on weekends, holidays and any other day you want to make special.
½ loaf of French bread, sliced
8 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1 cup of sugar
1/4 small tbsp of vanilla extract
2 cans of Goody peaches, sliced
½ cup of brown sugar
½ small tbsp of cinnamon
½ cup of heavy cream
½ cup of raspberries
1.Grease the serving sheet with butter then place the bread so that it forms a flat layer.
2.In a large bowl, add the eggs, milk and vanilla, mix well then pour the mixture over the bread.
3.Arrange the peaches on top of the bread and mixture, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon, cover tightly then refrigerate to chill for at least 8 hours.
4.Remove the dish from the fridge 30 minutes before baking time; heat the oven at 180o C. Meanwhile, put the cream in a large saucepan over high heat to boil for 10 minutes or until its amount is reduced to half, pour over the bread and peaches then put it in the oven for 45 – 55 minutes, turn on the griddle to fry its top, remove from the oven and garnish it with raspberries, serve hot.
