Modernized Masoub with Caramel Sauce
A simple and easy to make recipe; try it now and enjoy having it with your family. Pour the caramel sauce over the Masoub and serve hot.
1 loaf of Somali Bread
½ cup of Butter
3 whole Bananas, ripe
4 ½ Tbsp Sugar
1 tsp Cardamom, ground
1 Velor Canned Cream Plain
- Cut the loaf of bread into small pieces. Heat half the amount of butter in a pan and roast the bread until it turns golden.
- In a dish suitable for the oven, mash the bananas using a fork, then add the roasted bread, a spoon of sugar, the cardamom, and two tablespoons of cream. Bake in the oven for 7 minutes or until it browns.
For the Caramel Sauce:
- In the same pan, place the remaining amount of butter and sugar over the heat; stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the sugar melts and its color becomes light brown. Add the remaining cream gradually, while stirring constantly until the mixture is incorporated and becomes creamy.
- Place the sauce over the Masoub and serve hot.
