Tawabeg recipe comes with a touch of chicken stock and Goody vegetables. It’s inspired by Al medina al Monawara’s cuisine, but with a Goody twist.
1 lamb shoulder, cut into 4 large pieces
4 tbsps oil
Dash of black pepper
1 tsp garlic
For the sauce:
1 can tomato paste
3 tbsps yogurt
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp back pepper
½ tsp cloves
1 tbsp garlic powder
2 cups hot water
1 cube Goody Chicken Stock
2 cans Goody Mixed Vegetables, drained
1. Sprinkle black pepper on the meat pieces. Brush meat with garlic.
2. In a large pot, heat oil and brown meat on all sides.
3. For the sauce, stir fry all the ingredients on heat for a few minutes until well combined.
4. Place the meat in a baking dish. Pour sauce on top. Cover with foil and bake in the oven for 2 ½ hours. When the meat is done, add the mixed vegetables and bake in the oven (without foil) for 10 minutes.
